MIDWIFE

Position:    Midwife
Project title:    Support to the Health Sector in Panam County, Tibetan Autonomous Region.

Purpose and Scope of the Job
ASIA Onlus (www.asia-onlus.org) is an Italian NGO with 20 years of experience of work in the Himalayan regions to promote a sustainable development according to the old traditions and cultures of the local populations.
The aim of this project is to improve the quality of the health assistance provided by the public service to the Tibetan population of Panam County. The purpose will be reached through the strengthening of the capacities and skills of the local health staff at village, district and county  level. . The action will involve 270 healh workers and 18 health officers of Panam County health services and bureaus, in trainings courses in Surgery, General Medicine, Health Service Management, Nutrition, MCH, Hygiene, Health Service Management. The project is funded by the European Union and has a duration of 3 years.
ASIA is currently seeking to appoint a Expert Trainer, with relevant experience of training, who will be in charge of the organization of the training course in Mother and Child Health for the doctors of the Panam County. He/she will be based in Panam, and will respond to Project Coordinator of the Project.

Requirements:
-    Degree of Midwifery or Obstetrics
-    Work experience in Developing countries and in particular in Asia
-    Experience of organization and management  of health trainings
-    Good command of English language and computer
-    Good personal health conditions and capacity to work at high altitudes (3000/4000mt)
-    Long term work experience in International Cooperation.

Duties:    
-    Technical Support to the head of project
-    Social and Health survey in the area
-    Elaboration of the Training Programme
-    Planning, organization and realization of the training of health personnel
-    Design and editing of didactic material for the training
-    Support to the Project Coordinator in the identification of the equipment to be purchased
-    Realization of health surveys (epidemiological, nutritional, etc.)
-    Reporting to the Project Coordinator and HQ
