DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this project is to support the BiH institutions in approximation of EU Birds and Habitats Directives, more specifically transposition and implementation of the Directives provisions through the Entities Nature Protection Laws.
The project will also support initial steps for starting with the development of a (BiH wide) NATURA 2000 network and its corresponding implementing strategy and management plans.

Key expert 1: Team leader (400 w/days over 24 months).
EXPERT DESCRIPTION:
Qualifications and skills
- University degree in biology, environmental science or another related discipline
General professional experience
- At least 10 year of relevant professional experience in environmental management
- Experience in project management (participation as Team Leader or equivalent position in minimum 2 projects related to the subject of this contract)
Specific professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementation of Birds and Habitats Directives in EU Member States and/or Potential and Candidate Countries
- Experience in capacity building of institutions with a nature and biodiversity conservation mandate (minimum 2 projects related to this area)
- Experience in popularising scientific issues of conservation concern will be considered an advantage

Key expert 2: Biodiversity specialist (300 w/days over 24 months).
Input: The Biodiversity Specialist is in charge of establishment and implementation of the Natura 2000 process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Qualifications and skills
- University degree in biology, environmental science or other related discipline
- General professional experience
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in nature and biodiversity conservation.
Specific professional experience
- At least 5 years experience in biodiversity inventorying and mapping
- Experience in establishment and/or management of protected areas (minimum 2 projects related to this area)
- Experience in the preparation of conservation models in protected areas (minimum 1 project related to this subject)
- Experience in biodiversity and conservation work in South East Europe (minimum 1 project related to this subject)
